Celebrate Color! A Panel Discussion at RBW in NYC

Recently I joined RBW and Metropolis in New York for Celebrate Color!, held at RBW’s Tribeca showroom during NYC x Design.

I was part of the panel alongside architect Wid Chapman and Theo Richardson, co-founder of RBW, with Avi Rajagopal, Editor in Chief of Metropolis Magazine, moderating the discussion. The conversation touched on everything from light quality and perception to how color shifts across different materials and environments, and how emotion, comfort, and memory all shape the way we experience space.

I shared a bit about my own path from architecture into materials, textiles, and CMF strategy, as well as how my daily watercolor practice influences the way I think about color systems, experimentation, and material relationships. I also shared some recent and upcoming projects, including my collaborations with RBW and Skyline Glass.

One of the things I appreciated most was hearing how differently each of us approaches color and process. Even though our work comes from different disciplines, there were a lot of overlapping themes around atmosphere, materiality, intuition, and observation.

The showroom itself was a pretty perfect setting for the conversation, full of layered color, soft lighting, good cocktails, and lots of familiar faces from the design community.

I’m grateful to RBW and Metropolis for the invitation and for creating such a thoughtful evening around color and design.
